Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Construction Grading Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in earthwork and grading, with demonstrated leadership abilities to oversee and coordinate grading operations on construction sites. As a Grading Foreman, you will be responsible for managing a team of workers, ensuring work is completed according to project specifications, schedules, and safety standards. Key Duties include:
  • Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead grading crew members, including equipment operators and laborers.

- Interpret grading plans, blueprints, and specifications to execute grading tasks accurately.

- Coordinate with project managers and other trades to ensure seamless workflow and project progression.

- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, graders, and excavators as needed.

- Conduct regular inspections of work areas to identify hazards and maintain safety protocols.

- Train and mentor crew members on proper grading techniques and equipment operation.

- Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.

- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to procure necessary materials and equipment.

- Keep detailed records of daily activities, including materials usage, equipment maintenance, and labor hours.
  • Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction grading and earthwork operations.

- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting grading plans, blueprints, and specifications.

- Strong understanding of grading equipment operation and maintenance.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA regulations.

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet project deadlines.

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, Equipment Operator Certification) preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and handling of materials, equipment, and tools.
  • Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries heavy objects, machinery, and tools.
  • Works around vehicles and machinery with moving parts.
  • Exposed to exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
  • May be exposed to harsh weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to loud noise.
