Laundry Tech

Position Summary: Assist in the laundry department with the washing, drying, sorting, folding, transporting, and distribution of all linens and resident clothes in Granville Medical Center and Brantwood Nursing and Retirement Center.# Performs within the prescribed limits of the Medical Center/Departments Ethics and Compliance programs. Is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to immediate supervisor or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer or the GMC hotline. Operates all laundry equipment including washers and dryers.# Organizes and restock linen carts, shelves, and closets according to procedure.# Sorts and inspects all linen for stains and tears, removing stained and/or torn linen and placing in designated area for proper processing.# Transports delivery carts to designated areas for processing.# Folds linen by hand.# Process personal clothing for nursing center residents. Weighs the carts and places carts in delivery trucks for delivery.# Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department. Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent with previous laundry experience preferred but not required. Must be able to speak and understand English and be capable of learning how to operate laundry equipment. Must be able to work with others in a closed working environment. A valid driver#s license is required.
