The Testing Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the testing phase of software development projects in the ecommerce organization. They work to ensure that software applications or systems meet quality standards and are free of defects. The Testing Lead often defines test strategies, plans test efforts, coordinates test teams, monitors the execution of test cases and collaborates with developers, quality assurance professionals, and project managers to ensure that software is thoroughly tested and ready for deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a test strategy and plan that outlines the scope, objectives, and approach for testing
  • Create detailed test plans that specify test objectives, scope, resources, schedule, and deliverables
  • Evaluate, select, and implement test automation tools and frameworks to improve testing efficiency
  • Lead the design and development of test cases, test scripts, and test data based on project requirements and specifications
  • Coordinate and manage test execution activities, including test environment setup and test script execution
  • Implement defect tracking and management processes to identify, report, prioritize, and track defects throughout the testing process
  • Plan and execute regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionality
  • Oversee performance testing activities, including load testing, stress testing, and scalability testing, to evaluate system performance
  • Implement security testing measures to identify vulnerabilities and security issues within the software
  • Coordinate UAT activities with end-users or stakeholders to ensure that the software meets business requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in leading and managing testing teams
  • Ability to oversee and execute software testing activities for quality assurance
  • Skill in test planning, test case design, and test execution
  • Effective knowledge of testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing to improve efficiency and quality of testing
  • Capability to manage and prioritize testing efforts for various projects and releases
  • Proficiency in defect tracking and reporting, as well as test documentation
  • Understanding of test environments and test data management
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, quality assurance, and project management
  • Skill in test automation tools and frameworks
  • Knowledge of testing best practices, quality standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to drive testing initiatives and ensure high-quality software products
