Description
Summary
Responsible for all aspects of the Pharmacy Department including staff management, training, and scheduling; work with the Leadership & Pharmacy team to optimize operations and build sales; support Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by ensuring that all Pharmacy processes are practiced in a safe, lawful, ethical and professional manner at all times.

Requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Develop and train pharmacy staff, including hiring processes and procedures, provide supervision and leadership to ensure excellent customer service and team productivity. Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, feedback, and praise. Conduct interviews, probationary and annual performance reviews.
- Regulatory Licensing and record keeping: Maintain MN Board of Pharmacy licensing, ensure prescriptions are dispensed according to current laws, including HIPAA and Medicare compliance.
- Inventory: Monitor sales to efficiently order, merchandise, and rotate products. Take and document accurate inventory, maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of controlled drugs.
- Pricing: Monitor costs and maintain accurate pricing and labeling, work with business partners and suppliers on deals, displays, product quality, and credits.
- Labor: Schedule staff to meet patient and record keeping needs. Maintain accurate employee time records. Monitor department profitability and payroll, adjusting as needed to meet budget goals.
- Shrink: Manage shrink through effective employee training, product rotation, storage, accurate receiving and dispensing.
Other Responsibilities
Responsible for accepting written prescription or refill information from customers, confirming accuracy of patients' records, and retrieving customers' pharmacy records for verification; accessing the pharmacy computer to obtain complete patient records.
Filing completed prescriptions, ringing up prescriptions at the cash register, and gathering required signatures. Administer patient vaccines as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or PharmD in Pharmacy required. Previous experience in retail pharmacy setting required. Must pass NAPLEX AND MN State Board exams and be registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. Pharmacists are responsible for completing Continuing Education as required by law. Hold current Certification in Immunization Delivery and Healthcare Provider CPR. Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language. Must understand and display proficiency in resolving conflict through leadership and discussion. Understand how and when to motivate using praise and proper coaching. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate a consistent message through proper use of strong business and moral ethics that support Mackenthun's vision and commitment to our employees, patients and customers.

Information regarding a patient of this company shall not be released to any source outside of this company without the signed permission of the patient. Furthermore, information will only be released internally on a need-to-know basis. All employees will not discuss patient cases outside the office or with anyone not employed by this company unless they are directly involved with the patient's case.
Physical Demands
Constant standing, typing, reaching, and handling.
Occasional bending at waist, lifting up to 25lbs., and answering phones.
Equipment Used
Equipment used in filling prescriptions including, but not limited to Kirby Lester counting device, blister pack heat sealer, etc.
Computer, phone, cash register, electronic payment system, printers, fax machine.
Work Environment
Indoors, fast-paced, multifaceted environment, occasional exposure to compounding chemicals and cleaning chemicals.
I understand that this pharmacy handles and prepares hazardous drugs. The USP 800 is intended to ensure that personnel of reproductive capability understand the risks of handling hazardous drugs. Accordingly, I acknowledge that exposure to hazardous drugs may cause acute and chronic effects. Failure to follow pharmacy policies and procedures may put me at greater risk of exposure to hazardous drugs.
