Receive transportation requests from the general public and agency representatives via email, telephone, or fax. Assign scheduled trips to vehicles and transporters. Operate a two-way radio for monitoring and communicating with the transporters throughout the day. Provide general or directional information to the public; interprets departmental or County policies and procedures; receives and screens telephone calls resolving inquiries or complaints for the Transportation Coordinator. Types routine letters, memorandum, forms and reports from information provided by the public, rough drafts or notes; operates office equipment. Verify reports to ensure passenger's trip requests are scheduled. Maintain a daily dispatch log, documenting all transportation related calls. Perform any related work as required. Minimum Qualifications: Graduation with a High School Diploma or GED equivalency with prior clerical experience, including computer software, required. Dispatch experience preferred.
