Job Description Summary: This position provides scrub support for gastrointestinal procedures. Qualifications: Current Certification for Endoscopy Scope Reprocessing or must successfully obtain within six (6) months of hire. Graduate of an approved school of Operating Room Technicians preferred. Previous endoscopy, sterile processing, and/or operating room experience preferred. Minimum of two (2) years’ healthcare work experience preferred. Current RQI Provider CPR preferred or must successfully obtain within ninety (90) days of hire. Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred. Knowledge of Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and confidentiality requirements preferred. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently. Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed. Job Specific Duties: Accurately inputs data and maintains records per department procedure and protocol. Prepares room, equipment, and supplies as dictated by a particular procedure or patient’s needs. Cleans, disinfects and/or sterilizes equipment per department procedures. Monitors inventory and notifies leadership when stock is getting low in order to maintain adequate supplies. Collects laboratory specimens obtained by physician and labels accurately. Assists physician and RN in preparing patient for procedures. Administers medications via numerous routes (oral, topical, oxygen,) according to established guidelines. Ensures equipment is maintained and functioning properly. Notifies leadership and appropriate department of improper functioning equipment. Assists with bed making, disposing of linen, putting supplies away, stocking, etc. The above essential functions are representative of major duties of positions in this job classification. Not all of the duties may be assigned to a position. Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership. Shift: Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America) Schedule Details: Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs. Schedule: Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
