MobilizeGreen seeks a conservation minded GIS intern for 8 weeks working with the Northeast Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The intern will be working with the Regional Historic Preservation Officer supporting the Public Engagement, Historic Preservation, and Planning Division (PEHPP). This position is remote and supports National Wildlife Refuge System staff out of the Hadley, MA regional office. FWS will provide all necessary materials such as an FWS-furnished laptop and access to ArcGIS.

Location: 100% Remote

Host Unit: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Northeast Region's Public Engagement, Historic Preservation, and Planning Division

Position Duties:
  • Archaeological support will include digitizing archaeological site and survey area data and entering associated information using ArcGIS Pro. Some data may be able to be imported from statewide archaeological databases.
  • 100% Historic Preservation support.
  • Other duties as assigned that utilize the knowledge and creativity you bring to this position.
Qualifications:
  • Must be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Geography/GIS, or Cultural Resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GIS concepts and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability with ESRI products: ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online .
  • Very good inter-personal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Background in natural resources.
  • Valid Driver's License.
