Position Summary

Responsible for preparing and performing all office-based Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac PET diagnostic procedures, maintenance of the nuclear medicine and PET/CT lab while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and proficiency with the appropriate clinical protocols.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiography or Nuclear Medicine.
    2. License/Certifications: Licensed Radiologic Technician in Nuclear Medicine required. Certification from either the NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or AART (The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) required. Current BLS certification.
    3. Experience: Minimum two years practice or hospital experience.
    4. Knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging techniques and computer applications.
    5. Knowledge of safety, infection control, quality assurance and confidentiality regulations.
    6. Knowledge of physical sciences, biological effects of radiation exposure, radiation protection and procedures.
    7. Skill in administering radiopharmaceuticals and in operating camera and computer for imaging.
    8. Knowledge of crash cart emergency procedures and contents and proper response to emergency situations.
    9. Knowledge of safety, infection control and quality assurance protocols.
    10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
    11. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations.
    12. Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
    13. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    14. Proficient computer skills.
