Position Summary:
Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, demonstrate clinical leadership, and ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures. Work within the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations. Assist with tests and procedures, administer medication, and maintain a safe environment for patients.
Detailed responsibilities:
- Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
- Implement and document individualized care plans
- Assist with tests and procedures
- Participate in orientation and preceptor training
- Institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments
- Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information
- Administer medication and document clinical findings
- Maintain a safe environment for patients
- Enhance professional growth and development
- Follow patient safety-related policies and procedures
- Identify and report potential patient safety concerns
- Encourage patient participation in their own care
Qualifications:
- Educational requirement: Program Graduate, Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
- Experience: Prior experience in an ICU setting (preferred)
- Credentials: CPR for Healthcare/BLS, RN licensure in NM, Nationally Certified in area of specialty (preferred)
- Physical Requirements: Heavy work, physical demand requirements in excess of those for Medium Work
- Working conditions: Exposure to hazardous materials requiring PPE
