Join our dynamic Surgical Critical Care team at Backus Hospital As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in providing care for complex surgical and trauma patients in critical care and stepdown units. This includes rounding and performing procedures. This is an opportunity for growth and development in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Role Scope:

Under established guidelines and in collaboration with the practice physician(s), you will perform routine physical examinations, formulate treatment plans, and participate in further evaluation of patient needs. Additionally, you will provide appropriate treatment within your scope of practice and identify and refer issues outside your scope to a physician.

Qualifications

  • Requirements:
    • Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
    • Training: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
    • Experience: New Graduates welcome to apply - comprehensive onboarding provided
  • Preferred:
    • At least two years of post-graduate experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
    • Critical care and/or surgical and trauma experience
