We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician to join our team of MD Anesthesiologist and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. The Anesthesia Technician provides technical support in and out of the operating room, including anesthesia equipment setup as well as maintenance, assistance with patient and procedure preparation. The Anesthesia Technician works closely with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and other medical personnel to ensure the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia services.
Anesthesia Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain anesthesia equipment according to hospital standards and regulations
- Prepare and check anesthesia equipment prior to use
- Assist in the preparation of patients for anesthesia, including placing patient monitors, and patient positioning.
- Assist with various task during anesthesia delivery according to the instructions of the anesthesiologist and CRNAs.
- Assist with the maintenance of anesthesia equipment, including cleaning and performing safety checks
- Associate degree in Anesthesia Technology or prior Anesthesia Technology experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy
- Ability to lift and move heavy medical equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Background in a hospital settings, preferred experience as an anesthesia tech
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions.
- Certification as a Certified Anesthesia Technician (CAT) from the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) preferred not required
