ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs a wide variety of diagnostic examinations which results in the production of diagnostic radiographs. Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures. Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiographic equipment. Assists radiologists in performing routine and/or special procedures. Administers specific contrast and barium solutions as directed by the Radiologist or other physician in accordance with established guidelines. Provides instruction to x-ray students. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the age group served.
