Description

Position Summary/Objective

Responsible for ensuring quality yarn is made on the winder and twister. Load creel and twister and doff the yarn. Monitor production for quality and fix breaks in the yarn.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety rules, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment including hearing, eye protection, and safety shoes.
• Assist with set-up and change-over including cleaning equipment.
• Load tubes of yarn into the winder and/or twister and thread the machine.
• Monitor the machine and yarn for quality and breaks. Repair breaks with a weaver's knot.
• Doff the finished yarn packages and replace empty cones.
• Ensure products are correctly labeled.
• Assist in performing in-process quality inspections.
• Collect and label samples for quality testing.
• Assist in preparing finished products for shipment by moving to staging area and recording information.
• Uses material handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, etc.
• Notify production lead or manager of any quality or equipment issues.

Secondary Functions & Responsibilities:

• Keeps work area neat and organized according to 6S standards.
• Participate as a key member of Brickle Group teams, and actively contribute to our culture of continuous improvement.
• Can formally and informally train others.
• Other responsibilities as directed.

Requirements

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Good communication skills to interact with production.

Good dexterity with hands and fingers.

Read and write in English.

Education & Experience

6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.

Experience with textile or yarn making equipment a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Lifting 11-25 lbs. to include Pulling, Pushing, Carrying

Sensory:

Hearing, Talking, Reading distance 1-5 feet
