Shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and 4:00 pm - 11:30 pm, Monday - Friday

Job Summary: A healthcare facility is seeking an X-Ray Technician to join its radiology team. The X-Ray Technician will operate radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, ensuring compliance with safety measures, and maintaining equipment to meet regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Interaction: Establish rapport with patients, reduce anxieties, provide treatment explanations, and answer questions to ensure patient cooperation.
  • Procedure Preparation: Position patients, adjust immobilization devices, and configure equipment to set exposure factors for radiological procedures.
  • Radiation Safety: Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by using protection techniques, beam restrictive devices, and patient shielding while adhering to infection control policies.
  • Image Quality: Maintain the production and quality of radiographs by following standards and procedures, processing images, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Documentation: Chart patient care services in patient and department records, including the completion and verification of exams.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper operation of radiology equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining inventory.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Professional Development: Keep up with regulatory CME requirements, attend educational workshops, review professional publications, and participate in professional societies.
  • Team Contribution: Collaborate with the team to achieve department goals and contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Additional Duties: Complete yearly Age Specific Competency and other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Licensure: New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T) and ARRT Certified.
  • Competency: Ability to perform diagnostic procedures with a focus on quality, safety, and effective communication in a team environment.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English (Speak, Read, Write).

Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
