LUNCHROOM WORKER

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must comply with all employment criteria legally established by the Lee County Board of Education.
  2. Prior experience in a cafeteria preferred.
  3. The ability to read and follow instructions.
  4. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the assigned task.
  5. The ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  6. Tuberculosis clearance as required by law.
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Background Check Required: (HB 402 ACT 99-361 Alabama Legislature) Upon offer of employment, employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

REPORTS TO: Lunchroom Manager and the Principal.

JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
  2. Serve students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
  3. Operate cash register.
  4. Assume responsibility for ensuring that during meal service periods the supply of food offered is replenished regularly.
  5. Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
  6. Assist in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas, which includes, but is not limited to the removal of used dishes and the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area.
  7. Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the Lunchroom Manager.
  8. Maintain the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
  9. Perform related duties as required including duties at special meal functions.

EMPLOYMENT: This is a 184-day position. Annual salary range is based on board approved salary schedule and comparable full time work experience up to 10 years for 6.0, 6.5, 7.0. or 7.5 hours per day employment.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Support Personnel.
