Job Description

Title: Master Jeweler

Reports to: Shop Foreman

Overview

This Jeweler must have extensive experience and knowledge in high-end product. Responsible for execution of designs as well as ensuring the functional and aesthetic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to create complex and intricate pieces without supervision.
  • Provide input on technical aspect of design during project reviews, participate in brainstorming sessions during design review meetings. Provide input on production techniques and initial labor estimates.
  • Translate design concept into a physical piece within established project time frame
  • Collaborate with CAD designer/technician, setter, and polisher on all technical aspects of creation of the finished piece.
  • Physically construct new production models and initial prototype samples according to the project delivery timelines.
  • Capable of working on high jewelry/sold order product.
  • Ability to perform simple setting and polishing techniques.
  • Provide guidance to fellow jewelers.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10-15 years of bench experience in high-end jewelry manufacturing shop.
  • Knowledge of complex and intricate jewelry construction as well as precious metal properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret design rendering/engineering documents
  • Ability to construct handmade elements, mechanical components, clasps, connections
  • Ability to communicate issues clearly in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of colored stone properties, setting techniques and styles.
  • Ability to work overtime as business need arises.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated.


Location: New York, NY

Estimate Pay Rate: $72.12 - $84.14

Base pay is one component of David Yurman's total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
