Job Title: Machinist Reporting To: Supervisor, Process Work Schedule: Onsite - Orrville, OH Moog Space and Defense Group is the operating group with the longest heritage at Moog. Our team inSpace and Defense Groupis looking for an ExperiencedMachinist 2, 1st shift (5:00am-3:30pm),to join them. You will report to the Machining Operations Supervisor and will have an onsite on 4/10 work schedule in Orrville, Ohio. 4/10 schedule: You work 4 days, Mondays-Thursdays, 10 hours each day and have Fridays off This schedule allows employees to work 40 hours per week while still having an extra day off. You may be asked to work some Fridays which is overtime pay. To be considered for Machinist, here's what you'll need to bring with you: High School diploma or GED preferred.Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Minimum of 5 years of related machine shop experience Can read and interpret blueprints. Experience with Mazak machines/Mazatrol programming, CMM (coordinate measuring machine), and/ or lean manufacturing preferred. As a Machinist, you will: Set up and operate machines within their assigned area, i.e., grind, mills, lathes, machine centers, E.D.M. manual or CNC, and to produce quality acceptable hardware with general instruction. Ensure part quality by using assorted inspection equipment. Maintain working knowledge of our procedures, including following shop practices and understanding shop terminology. Set up and check tooling for proper settings and dimensions, make necessary adjustments/troubleshoot problems to produce quality parts. Document setup information. Program using Mazatrol. Work with manufacturing engineering/management to improve manufacturing processes. May train other employees and assist operators.
