Responsibilities:

Job Description:

Perform manufacturing, disassembly, rework, and repair tasks for surface mount and through-hole printed circuit card assemblies, flex circuits, sub-assemblies, and electronic mechanical assemblies.

Tasks include board and component preparation, printed circuit board stuffing and assembly, touch-up, manual soldering, and box-building.

Conduct modifications, upgrades, removals, and replacements of electro-mechanical, surface mount, and through-hole components.

Operate machines for soldering, desoldering, pressing, shaping, winding, and placing component parts.

Clean and degloss parts using appropriate cleaning devices, solutions, and abrasives.

Perform intermediate assembly tasks such as conformal coating, potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding.

Conduct informal, self in-process checks on manufactured items before formal inspection and/or testing.

May assemble cabinets, chassis, consoles, or similar devices using manual, electronic, or electro-mechanical equipment.

Assist other related job classifications when directed.

Interpret process routings, wiring diagrams, and production planning documents.

Familiarity with the collection and analysis of data for Statistical Process Controls.

Perform other required activities as assigned.

Demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements.

May perform as a member or leader of a functional and/or cross-functional team.

Requirements:

Education:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: Two years’ experience in assembly, rework, or repair of electronic equipment including circuit cards with surface mount and through-hole components is desired but not mandatory.

Knowledge: Practical knowledge of electronic component identification, ability to work from routing instructions, and interpretation of mechanical and electrical schematics is required. Previous training in industry soldering and assembly standards (IPC–610, IPC-620, IPC–7711, and/or J-STD-001) and experience in Electronic Worker Cable & Chassis, and Electronic Worker Circuit Card positions is preferred. Solder verification for fine pitch is required including some/all of IPC 7711 Rework procedures.
