The Role

We're seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our Summer 2025 Internship program, focusing on backend systems and our ledger infrastructure. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience building and optimizing the core components of our cutting-edge payment platform. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll contribute to the scalability, reliability, and performance of our backend systems.

Location

This role will be a hybrid work format, with time split between working remotely and working onsite from our New York HQ, 2-3 days a week as required by your manager.

What You'll Do
  • Ledger Development: Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining backend systems that power our ledger platform.
  • API Development: Build and enhance APIs that enable seamless data flow between our platform and partners.
  • Data Integrity: Work on ensuring the accuracy, security, and reliability of financial transactions in the ledger system.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure high availability and scalability of backend services.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the Engineering and Product teams to align on technical requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Debug and Monitor: Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and improving backend processes for enhanced system performance.
What We're Looking For
  • Incoming College Juniors, Seniors, or graduate students graduating in 2025-2026.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience or coursework in backend development, including working with databases and server-side programming.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like Python, Java, or Node.js (Python preferred).
  • Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and cloud technologies is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • A passion for building reliable and scalable systems.
