Required skills for this job include:
- Build and maintain software applications for our customers
- Ability to program in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript), including web, mobile, and enterprise applications
- Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, support), and seek to constantly make improvements and increased efficiencies
- Oversee the performance of applications to ensure they run properly
- Find and implement solutions to security threats, such as viruses, errors, and exploits
- Full stack development experience
- Experience with Git-based source control and pull requests for feature-based development
- Experience with cloud-based computing (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- 2+ years of Python experience
- 2+ years of application design/implementation concepts, components, and workflows in React, Angular, or similar web application platforms
- Understanding of REST APIs
- Understanding of responsive design
- Understanding of scalable design
- Solid understanding of security
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Sharp critical and analytical thinking skills and keen attention to detail
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure applications align with the organization’s goals, as well as customer needs
- Remain current on technology trends to keep our software as innovative as possible
- Work with product team to plan new features, gather requirements, and propose solutions
- Establish and adhere to standards and best practices
- Work to continuously improve software delivery processes and practices
- Promote adoption of web applications standards
- Help foster a culture of innovation and out-of-the-box thinking
- 8+ years of professional experience
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or comparable academic discipline
- Must have or be willing to obtain Secret Clearance (this requires US Citizenship)
- Acceptable candidates must successfully pass a drug test and background screen
- Certification in application development
- A solid understanding and appreciation for Agile tools, processes, and methodology
- Experience with persistence and data storage technologies
- Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
- No-SQL and non-relational databases
- Wider variety of experience is a plus
- 2+ years of Java experience
- 2+ years of .NET experience
- Ability to interact well in a team environment and experience working as part of a development team
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of timelines and budgets
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficiency with project tracking software (e.g., Jira)
- Ability to work with new technologies while demonstrating drive, adaptability, and creative thinking
- Strong communication skills
- Project management experience
