Keep Supply is a respected and resourceful distributor of heavy commercial and industrial refrigeration parts, equipment and other MRO supplies on a mission to #bethebestpart. No matter the need, we keep our customers supplied and running. We are currently seeking a Technology Generalist to join our growing Tech Team.

The Technology Generalist role at Keep Supply is responsible for supporting technical objectives in a wide variety of ways within the technology team. Their job responsibility will include purchase and configuration of employee computers, simple network maintenance, and troubleshooting/training on basic issues with employee computing equipment. Further, they will be responsible for software system configurations for new hires, existing employees and departing employees. Additionally, this role plays a strategic role in helping extract key insights from business data bits so Keep staff can execute both tactically and strategically. They will accomplish this by working under the direction of the Director of Technology and utilize skills in programming and data management to extract, migrate, tag, clean and report on data as needed.

A successful technology generalist will execute using problem solving and creativity skills along with technical skills in languages such as Python, SOQL, APEX and SQL and through the tooling like Google Sheets and Visual Studio Code, in interaction with various REST APIs including Salesforce, Brightpearl, and Magento.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assisting the tech team in daily tasks such as machine configuration, network maintenance, deployments, manual testing, etc. as required by the team's goals. This includes and is not limited to: Monitoring and resolving issue channel posts, working with tech team to triage issues beyond level 1 support, coordinate tech side of onboarding with P&C Director (computer purchases, day one training, systems setup), general hardware support (monitors, keyboards, projectors) and keeping inventory and management tech team hardware store/stash.
  • Migration and large-scale updates of data in various repositories, which includes product price update management, website data maintenance, manual or bulk data updates to Salesforce, Brightpearl and other system data as needed.
  • Work with Director of Ops and Buyer on product data and pricing projects to keep product data up-to-date.
  • Development and deployment of reports and dashboards that improve data quality and assists in the maintenance, updates, and creation of existing and new dashboards.
  • Collaboration with other members of the tech team to identify key areas to work on the quality and availability of data.
  • Learn, improve on and utilize where required programming tools such as Python, Google Sheets, data loader, and BigQuery to accomplish assigned goals
  • Assists CIO and Director of Technology in the implementation of broad organizational data strategies
  • Practices standard software development approaches in the industry to increase the quality of work and infrastructure
  • Work within an Agile team and framework to prioritize feature development selection and increase product maturation velocity. Specifically, work closely with the Salesforce Product Manager to bring Salesforce business ROI and with Tech team developers to integrate with Salesforce
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Exploration of Keep Supply customer, pricing, and sales data using statistical analysis.
  • Perform audits to identify risks in access and security of data repositories.
  • Grow and learn business domain knowledge to identify unique and/or niche insights in Keep Supply's industry, Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration.
  • Work with Director of Technology to develop and implement data quality systems and frameworks.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable pursuit of learning in programming through pursuit of an accredited degree program in Computer Science or equivalent program
  • Basic knowledge of the Python programming language or comparable language (i.e. Rust, Go, C#)
  • Basic understanding of data manipulation and transformation (e.g. CSV files, uses of databases, etc.)
  • Strong interest in system integration development and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the team's success
