JOB SUMMARY

System Administrator II will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and managing Balad/AFAB complex infrastructure and related systems while upholding high levels of customer service and communication.

The primary duties for this position are focused on systems management which includes network, file and print services, virtualization, hardware and software support, managing Directory Services, patch management, system backups, monitoring, proactive system maintenance, security audits, O365, and inventory.

Additionally, this position will interface with the helpdesk ticketing system, IT support entities and the end-user to resolve incidents.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform routine system maintenance, server installation, configuration, upgrades, optimization, improvements, and system backups on various Windows servers hardware/software, including physical and virtual servers, Active Directory, IIS, printer servers, Maximo, Group policy, patching, data applications, etc.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to, administrative virtual machine (Hyper-V and VMWare) servers, deploying web applications, storage, backup and restore software, files, etc.
Maintain and implement corporate IT policies, standards, and procedures.
Participate in the IT triage for 100% uptimes on Sallyport ESS/BAN and BBS networks.
Maintain inventory needs to ensure adequate supply of hardware & software licensing.
Install, configure, and administer Microsoft scripts written in PowerShell.
Provide monitoring support and reporting for critical servers as determined by IT management.
Manage AFAB users (create/modify/delete) to AFAB resources.
Perform and maintain a backup of user and server data and configurations.
Provide central user support to Windows systems in support of client SLAs and assistance in system/network administration, installation, and upgrades as needed.
Provide documentation evidence of any and/or all work products which are deployed.
Take ownership and responsibility of queries, issues, and problems.
Escalate issues and involve experts wherever required to resolve issues as quickly as possible.
Participate in On-Call Rotation
Adhere to company IT security policies.
Perform other duties as required.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field (Required)
Certifications:
In lieu of a degree, the candidate should have at a minimum Microsoft MCSE Certification or an updated MS Certificate (Required)
Minimum 4 to 8 years' experience in IT
Minimum 3 to 6 years working in an Enterprise setting as a Windows Administrator, maintaining, and supporting, virtual, on-prem, and cloud-based systems, applications, tools, and a wide range of hardware and operating systems. (Required)
VMWare VCP & 3+ Years experience of vSphere/vCenter administration (Required)
3+ Years' experience building and supporting various resources in Azure (Required)
5+ Administering MS Active Directory, DNS, Group Policies (Required)
5+ Years administering MS Windows servers (Required)
VMware Certification (Required)
Microsoft Certified Professional or MCSA or MCITP (Required)
CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ (Desirable)
Experience:
4-8 years' experience preferably supporting mission critical applications.
Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, PowerShell, VBScript)
Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX) (Desirable)
Solid Cloud experience, preferably in Azure
Experience troubleshooting a broad range of applications, desktop & mobile operating systems, browsers, etc.
Strong knowledge & experience with virtualization platforms (e.g, Vmware, Hyper-V, etc).
Hands-on experience supporting Highly Available (HA) environments with solutions such as clustering and network load balancer.
Extensive skills with Windows networking, Active Directory and Windows Security
Experience working in an on-prem data center.
Ability to demonstrate Information Technology knowledge skills & competencies.
Understanding of Networking technologies and concept
Excellent communication, organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
