Nature of Work:

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Custody Data Entry Clerk to accurately collect and enter demographic, booking, and case information into the Jail Management System.

This position involves performing tasks such as accepting bonds, accessing and running NCIC/FCIC responses for warrant checks, processing releases, evaluating criminal histories, and disbursing money to inmates leaving the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately collects, reviews, and enters demographic, booking, and case information into the Jail Management System
  • Reviews and verifies all incoming documents related to inmate bookings and releases
  • Ensures accurate and complete data entry into the Jail Management System
  • Processes bond payments and releases inmates according to court orders and procedures

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Data entry score of 80% accuracy
  • Typing speed of 25 wpm
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
  • Consideration for this position requires a credit check

Physical Abilities:

  • Sit up to 6 hours per day
  • Stand up to 1 hour per day
  • Walk up to 1 hour per day
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule:

This position works 8-hour shifts, 5 consecutive days. The shift assigned is subject to a biannual seniority-based bidding process.

Availability:

The successful candidate must be available to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays according to their assigned shift and based on agency need.
