Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Field Technician to join our dynamic IT support team. As a Tier One Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to our clients in a variety of on-site settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • On-Site Support: Provide on-site technical support to end-users, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and other peripherals, escalating more complex problems to Tier Two support as needed.
  • Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, applications, and peripheral devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • User Training: Conduct user training sessions to enhance end-users' understanding of technology and promote efficient use of IT resources.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all on-site visits, service requests, and resolutions, ensuring comprehensive documentation of hardware and software inventory.
  • Customer Communication: Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine hardware maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure the reliability and longevity of IT equipment.
  • Software Updates: Assist in the deployment of software updates, patches, and security configurations to keep systems up-to-date and secure.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with Tier Two support and other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and security standards, actively participating in efforts to enhance IT security

Requirements

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge
  • Proven experience as an IT Field Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework is a plus.
  • A+, Network+, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client locations.
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
