WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Systems Engineer II – Wireless Practice Lead will be responsible for designing, installing, integrating, and maintaining wireless technologies. In this role, you will:

  • Lead wireless network engineering projects, including design, integration, testing, installation, and support of wireless network infrastructure.
  • Perform network design activities on HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, Juniper (local or cloud-managed systems) for large enterprise data networks.
  • Perform wireless site surveys and analyze results for best optimal wireless deployment.
  • Investigate, design, plan, and implement physical and logical wireless communications networks.
  • Prepare schematics to define and illustrate wireless network design solutions.
  • Create design documents containing instructions to be used by clients and technicians.
  • Provide proactive monitoring of the network using configuration and troubleshooting tools like Cisco Meraki Cloud, HPE, Aruba, Juniper.
  • Conduct capacity planning for internal and external network connections.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • Five (5) or more years of experience as a senior-level wireless network engineer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certifications from manufacturers like Aruba, HPE, or Juniper.
  • Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi protocols, including all IEEE 802.11 standards and supporting networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TCP/IP, UDP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPN, ACLs, LDAP).
  • Ability to perform and analyze Wi-Fi surveys using tools such as Ekahau.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot IT equipment in a multi-protocol district-wide wireless network with centralized and cloud-based controllers.
  • Experience collaborating with local and field engineering teams and contracted vendors to ensure swift responses to critical issues impacting clients.
  • Experience installing and maintaining identity solutions like Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, or Microsoft NPS.
  • Strong understanding of wireless security using 802.1x and best practices to ensure strong wireless network security.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS.
