Department Overview The pharmacy department at Children's Minnesota is staffed by registered pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians with specialized training in pediatric pharmacy. Our inpatient pharmacists perform daily rounds with providers and are essential partners in providing state-of-the-art pediatric comprehensive medication management services, pharmacy automation, IV production and compounding services. Children's pharmacists provide medication education, consultation and specialized drug information services, as well as participating in educational and outreach programs. We provide 24-hour inpatient operations services along with 16-hour decentral pharmacist coverage. Our inpatient decentral team includes trained subspecialists in neonatal, pediatric and cardiovascular critical care, including cardiac transplant, pediatric medicine, oncology, neuroscience, emergency medicine (including Level I trauma services) and research. Our pharmacists are also essential partners in the ambulatory setting, providing pediatric pharmacy services for home infusion, retail pharmacy, oncology clinic/infusion center and hemophilia treatment center, as well as medication therapy management (MTM) within our primary and specialty care clinics. We are committed to training the next generation of pediatric pharmacy professionals through mentoring of pharmacy students and post-doctoral training in our robust residency program, which includes post-graduate year one (PGY1) and two (PGY2) residencies in pediatrics and pharmacogenomics. Position Summary This role provides pharmacy care in our critical care units and offers information to patients, their families, and colleagues to promote the optimal utilization of drugs. It coordinates the delivery of effective, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy to all patients. Additionally, the role involves conducting clinical and pharmacoeconomic research to support the hospital's medical staff and improve drug therapy. It also includes daily oversight of pharmacy technician activities. Hours: The hours for this role are 0.8 FTE (48 hours per pay period) with rotating shifts and every third weekend. Location: Children's Minnesota, Minneapolis Inpatient Pharmacy *Graduate from a college/school of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) OR graduate from a foreign college of pharmacy that has at least a five-year curriculum and has passed the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and become certified by the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Commission (FPGEC), required. *Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution, preferred. *Licensed to practice pharmacy in the Sta e of Minnesota current or within three months of hire, required. *Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current or within 3 months of hire, required. *PharmD degree or equal clinical experience preferred for decentral. *Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred for decentral. *Institutional or outpatient experience preferred, depending on position. *Pediatric Residency, preferred. *Board Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist (BCPPS), preferred. *Minnesota Board of Pharmacy preceptor license, preferred. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
