What you'll be doing:
Create a fun and safe learning environment for toddlers (ages 2-4)
Help develop and carry out lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards
Supervise the children during daily routines and activities, making sure they are safe and happy
Build relationships with the toddlers, helping them develop their social and emotional skills
Work collaboratively with other teachers
Communicate with parents about their child's progress
Participate in professional development opportunities to keep your skills up-to-date
Responsibilities:
Assist the teacher with planning, running, and evaluating classroom activities
Help supervise the children and make sure they are safe at all times
Take charge of the classroom and the children when the main teacher is not there
Help with the children's daily needs like diapering, feeding, and getting them dressed
Help keep the classroom clean and safe
Communicate effectively with parents
Be reliable and show up to work on time
Participate in meetings, trainings, and other team activities
Be a team player and be respectful of others
Dress and act professionally
Follow the center's policies and procedures
Qualifications:
18 years or older
Enjoy working with young children, families, and colleagues
Be a team player
Have strong communication skills
Be able to supervise young children
Be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and move around the classroom
Have reliable transportation
Have a negative TB test
Get CPR/First Aid certified within 30 days of being hired
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Must be enrolled in a Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate program and complete it within 90 days, or be working towards an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education
Must complete 24 hours of child development training every year
