The Senior Estimator will be tasked with leading large complex marine and heavy civil estimates and proposals. This individual will understand the entire project, allocate estimating resources as needed, and work with all Cianbro resources to compile complete estimates and proposals from inception to contract execution, working in various delivery environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review client-provided information, and attend meetings and site visits for the project.
  • Determine suitability for Cianbro, major project risks, and the level of pricing that can be obtained.
  • Identify the scope and schedule of the entire project and develop the scope descriptions.
  • Integrate with operations to exchange construction methods and plans, project ideas and attributes, and understanding.
  • Develop creative relationships with material vendors and subcontractors.
  • Develop overall and individual innovative means and methods for completing projects to increase competitiveness and margins.
  • Coordinate with business development, finance, contracts, and temporary design groups as needed.
  • Review estimate teams' work during compilation to ensure their understanding and direction.
  • Ensure final estimates are complete, well organized, and ready for review by management.
  • Maintain client contact and operational relationships throughout the duration of the project.
  • Lead the schedule development and share with the estimating team and operations to ensure the projects meet owner requirements and Cianbro resources are used efficiently.
  • Lead proposal development and written responses.
  • Maintain and catalog bid documents and organize estimate information.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • The successful candidate will have a technical college degree and five or more years working at an equivalent project management or estimating management level.
  • Ability to view the project holistically.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, MS Office, P6 scheduling and estimating software (HCSS).
  • Proven conceptual estimating skills when detailed design information is not yet available.
