ABOUT US | PX Project is a workforce development fellowship program that serves Opportunity Youth in the Greater Houston Area. At PX Project, we facilitate the development of skills in career navigation, professionalism, and personal development. We believe that people learn best by doing and offer a culinary work-based learning program for our young people, or fellows, to support them as they navigate adulthood. 

We are determined to provide holistic support to our fellows. This includes social emotional development, needs-based wrap-around services, and individualized mental health services.

MISSION | We turn the kitchen into an immersive classroom for young adults to explore their identities, learn transferable skills, and open doors to their future.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide a range of mental health, well-being, and therapeutic services to program participants
  • Conduct holistic needs assessment for each program participant
  • Facilitate weekly individual therapeutic sessions for each program participant 
  • Refer individual clients to needs-aligned external services, as needed 
  • Collaborate with staff to develop comprehensive support plans for client needs, as needed 
  • Monitor participant progress and maintains case files
  • Provide guidance in mental health related crises 
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in social work or counseling from accredited program
  • LPC, LMSW, LMFT or LCSW or related licensure  
  • License in good standing
  • Interest in working with Opportunity Youth
