Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Building Engineer III (HVAC Mechanic) for our Facilities Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Building Engineer III (HVAC Mechanic), you will:
• Maintain and install all HVAC (Heating/Ventilation and Cooling) systems (including heating and cooling units, building exhaust fans, roof-top units and building automation systems), identify/diagnoses and repair refrigeration equipment, ensuring these units/systems are operating efficiently and safely.
• Performs assigned work order service requests and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, buildings with required documentation of maintenance activity within the CMMS.
• Diagnose and repair of Direct Expansion (DX) HVAC equipment, ice machines, Commercial Air Handling Equipment (AHU), Variable Air Volume (VAV) for both variable volume and constant volume ventilation equipment. Researches and selects materials for HVAC systems installation, repair, and maintenance
• Provide energy management system (EMS)/building automation system (BAS) management and oversight to ensure buildings maintains maximum comfort and maximum energy set points and setbacks.
• Reads and interprets as-built building blueprints and technical diagrams and recommends system modifications for projects in accordance with applicable regulations
• Coordinate/manage shutdowns of the various HVAC systems as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include:
• High School Diploma or equivalency
• 3-5 years commercial or hospital HVAC and refrigeration experience
• Journeyman's license required
• MD. State HVAC license
• EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant License Required
• Valid Driver's License

Work Schedule:

M-F 6:30am - 3:00pm

Pay Range:
$29.08 - $42.17
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
