Description

The Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center is looking for a dedicated Steward to join our banquet food and beverage team. In this role, you'll assist with setting up, stocking, and maintaining service areas for weddings, conferences, and other special events. Key Responsibilities:
  • Set-Up & Maintenance: Set, stock, and maintain banquet bars, breaks, and buffet stations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Service Support: Assist with plating, transporting, and serving food, as well as breaking down buffets and bars after events.
  • Product Refreshing: Replenish bars, breaks, and buffets promptly with fresh items as needed, coordinating with the kitchen and bar manager on product usage.
  • Guest Service: Deliver outstanding service to guests by meeting their specific event needs and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Equipment & Sanitation: Maintain proper sanitation of all banquet equipment, ensuring it is in good working order throughout each event.
  • Inventory Tracking: Log product usage for bars and buffets accurately to maintain an accurate record of inventory during events.
  • Stock Management: Inform the Food and Beverage Convention Services Manager or Food and Beverage Director of low stock levels or product outages.
  • Additional Duties: Complete additional tasks as directed by the Food and Beverage Convention Services Manager and Food and Beverage Director.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in hospitality or event management preferred.
  • Previous experience in banquet, catering, or event services, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with clients, guests, and team members professionally.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and event setup best practices.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle physically demanding tasks.
