Job Description:

Meow Wolf is seeking an IT Helpdesk Engineer to join a cross-functional team that supports the operations of the Grapevine Exhibition. As a help desk engineer, your primary responsibilities are to troubleshoot issues with computer hardware, peripherals, software, and maintain the IT ticketing system. Provide technical support to team members by researching and answering technical questions, monitoring network devices and LAN performance. The position will be responsible for making additional support recommendations to the IT team , as leads arise, and all tickets worked will be reported in a timely manner.

IT Helpdesk Engineer position requires someone who is a self-starter with the ability to apply their technical knowledge in order to troubleshoot, resolve, and recommend IT solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience working within an operations team successfully managing/maintaining multiple IT systems. This position also requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a high level of focus and follow-through.

How you will do it...

  • Must be able to critically think beyond break/fix, communicate well, and work in a team-based environment.

  • Provide technical support to team members by researching and answering technical questions and troubleshooting issues.

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain macOS and Windows, laptops/desktops, printers, and other peripherals.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on macOS and Windows, printers, and other hardware. Installs service releases and performs routine maintenance on desktop applications.

  • Implement virus protection, detection, and elimination.

  • Provide basic training on hardware and software use.

  • Facilitate assistance from hardware and software vendors when necessary.

  • Devise documentation for all end-user hardware and software with regard to installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, licensing, configuration, and network connectivity.

  • Assist in AV setup for Meow Wolf internal events

  • Other duties as assigned

To be successful in this role...

  • At least 3 years of professional IT experience with a minimum of Level 2 proficiency

  • Proficiency with all Windows and MAC desktop operating systems

  • Proficiency with G Suite and Office 365

  • Proficiency with computer hardware

  • Proficiency with software testing

  • Experience with backup solutions, managed anti-virus software, copiers, SaaS applications, MDM software and technical documentation

  • Experience with ethernet cable pulling, terminating and managing

  • Understanding of Windows Server environment, such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and Group Policy

  • Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies such as switches, routers and firewalls

  • Excellent Customer Service

It would be nice to have...

  • Associates and/or Bachelor's degree

  • Help Desk experience preferred

  • Current CompTIA A+ certification

  • Current CompTIA Network+ certification

  • Basic understanding of the OSI Model

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment: Office environment
