This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As a part of a small, multi-functional team, you'll help create, manage, and operate hardware and software products for ground and marine subsystems supporting the New Glenn launch program. We seek SCADA integration engineers of all backgrounds who are passionate about space and possess a strong desire to serve on a team providing critical infrastructure to the New Glenn program

You'll be responsible for the review of requirements, generation of test plans and test procedures, along with the design and development of simulation and test utilities required for the performance of the test procedures. These efforts will culminate in the verification and validation of New Glenn system software and operations products.

In this hands-on position, you will collaborate with and support avionics subsystem owners, integration and test engineers, and operations personnel to develop, integrate, verify and validate software components.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • System Administration for a facility SCADA system based on ICONICS product suite
  • Integration of new devices into the system and testing of device communications
  • Verification of system functionality in both development labs and operational environment
  • Development and testing of display screens for Operations
  • Test support for Ground and Mission Operations
  • Training other developers and Operators in display layout and editing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of B.S. in electrical or software engineering or related field, or equivalent years of professional experience (typically 3+)
  • Experience with PLCs and industrial control systems
  • Experience developing software in C / C++, Python, C# and .NET
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Passion for hands-on problem solving and software integration and test
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
  • Ability to travel and work at remote sites supporting test integration, operations, and training
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of industry software development experience
  • Experience with development of safety-critical systems (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)
  • Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IPv4) for distributed systems, network security, data encryption, compression, etc.
  • Experience with any embedded C/C++, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Linux, real-time operating systems
  • Familiarity with the following preferred tools: DOORS or DNG, Makefiles, Linker Scripts, Doxygen, Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Bash, and JIRA/Confluence
