The Role

Our Pueblo, CO facility is seeking a motivated self-starter to join our Production Team on the 3rd shift. This individual Assists members of the Production team by cleaning, preparing, repairing, and monitoring the heavy machines used to mix and process chemicals. They mix and handle chemicals, record information and observations relating to the mixing process, troubleshoot issues with equipment and assist in process improvement initiatives and the work plan development process.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Participate Fully in the Pueblo Basic Safety Process (BSP) with monthly requirements of BSP.
  • Follows documented procedures to unload/load tank wagons, Sampling of tank wagons and storage tanks, pumping raw material into storage tanks/tank wagons, tank operations.
  • Follow documented procedures for safe operation of the nitric still.
  • Follow documented procedures for safe operation of the Anhydrous Ammonia system.
  • Follow documented procedures for safe operation of the wastewater skid to remain incompliance with City/State regulations.
  • Perform routine checks of utilities such as boilers, chillers, DIW, Scrubbers, compressors etc.
  • Operate a forklift to move raw material containers to and from the tank farm area.
  • Move containers and supplies within the plant to support plant operations.
  • Operate equipment in the tank farm area to safely supply final product to Blending and Packaging.
  • Operate all utilities essential to plant operations.
  • Calibrations of probes for the scrubbers, wastewater skid, AMOH chilled water etc.
  • Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to operations at the Pueblo Plant and participates in all appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment and support of EH&S principles and values; Champions safety as necessary.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the scope of this position.
  • Participates in meetings, events, or other activities for the site as needed.
  • Coordinates with Packaging, Shipping, Production, etc.… as needed.
  • Sample tanks using BKM to ensure quality and submit the samples to the Lab.
  • Knowledge of how inline particle counters work and BKM on trends.
  • Complete all paperwork as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities such as 6-S.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven chemical experience in manufacturing environment required
  • Preferred experience at Pueblo plant with 3 completed modules.
  • Must possess valid state Driver’s License.
  • Good communications skills; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in the organization
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and long division.
  • Basic computer knowledge and user ability including database systems and other programs and applications used at location.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments.
  • Flexibility to work varying and/or rotating shifts

Work Environment/Conditions

  • Exposure to inside and outside elements (100°+ summer to -10° winter)
  • Exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous.
  • Ascends and descends ladders and stairs. Ability to work in elevated environments, potentially for lengthy periods of time.
  • Loud sounds and vibrations could be experienced at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (All environments are safe with appropriate PPE).
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be fitted for and wear a respirator, if needed (Must maintain proper facial hairstyle to assure a proper respirator sealing surface).
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

Work Schedule:

  • 3rd Shift: Sundays-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday 6pm - 4:30am (overtime may be required)
  • Standard PPE includes - steel toe shoes (provided by us), safety glasses, hard hat, company-provided uniform. Additional PPE required for certain job functions.

PAY RANGE: The pay range for this role is estimated at $23/hr - $26/hr with actual wage based on candidate’s qualifications and experience.
