Reports To: Director of Summer Camp
The Lead Counselor of Summer Camp is responsible for providing direction in the area of operations, accountability, and fiscal responsibility for the Providence Creek Academy Charter School and the summer camp program.
Qualities needed to thrive in this role:
  • Relationships- the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and key school stakeholders across the school
  • Knowledge- a working knowledge of best practices, our current charter, State and local expectations, systems and operations
  • Dedication- a desire to aid all families in providing a safe and engaging summer camp program
  • Community- Create and maintain relationships with vendors, field trip partners, and the students participating in the program beyond PCA
Major Responsibilities Include:
Under the supervision of the Director of Summer Camp and the Head of School, the Lead Counselor of Summer Camp will:
  1. Maintains the personnel and general filing system of all correspondence on the shared drive
  2. Organizes, schedules, and directly oversees daily and weekly activities
  3. Fiscally responsible for intake, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  4. Partakes in scheduling all employee shifts to ensure proper coverage in accordance with state regulations
  5. Remain up to date with distribution of owed bills (weekly)
  6. Handle student concerns as they arise
  7. Conduct daily Check-In's with the Director of Summer Camp to discuss finances, operations, and student concerns
  8. Uphold the mission and vision of Providence Creek Academy Charter School
  9. Create engaging and interactive crafts, activities, games, and programs for each group every day

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
  • HS Diploma
Experience
  • 2+ years in a managing or supervisory role
  • 3+ years working in an educational or childcare capacity
Skills
Ability to:
  1. Communicate accurately and effectively with various levels of staff
  2. Hold others accountable
  3. Understand and implement protocols, procedures, and policies passed down through the Head of School
  4. Remain organized with filing and systems
  5. Delegation skills as necessary

This positon will require approximately 30 hours a week for the full 8 weeks of camp, with some time dedicated before and after for setup and break down.
Compensation: An hourly wage that is determined by education and experience
