JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Department: Peds Surgery
Shift Timings: 14:30-23:00 Hours Monday to Friday (5 Days/8 Hours)
Per Week: 40 Hours
3 OR's and 2 Procedure Rooms Service lines: General, Urology, Ortho, ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Endoscopy, and Pediatric gynecology.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Preparing sterile operating rooms for surgeries.
- Sterilizing equipment and instruments.
- Stocking adequate supplies for surgery.
- Preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
- Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies.
- Tracking surgical supplies.
- Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.
- Working well with surgeons, surgical assistant, nurses and general surgical team.
- Helping provide great patient care.
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current Pediatric Surgical Tech experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited Certified Surgical Tech program
- Active unencumbered Texas Surgical Tech state license
- One year of Cerner experience
