Job Description:
- Work with critically ill patients requiring monitoring of heart rates, breathing rates, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.
- Monitor patients bedside or remotely from a central location, such as a nurses station.
- Exhibit basic and advanced life support skills.
- Implement dysrhythmia monitoring techniques, interpretation, and treatment.
- Perform medication dosage calculation and patient monitoring, ensuring proper effects and continuous administration of certain medications.
- Monitor patients using standardized procedures pre-, intra-, and post-procedures.
- Recognize symptoms of cardiopulmonary emergencies and initiate interventions for stabilization.
- Conduct hemodynamic monitoring, including equipment setup, troubleshooting, and patient status evaluation.
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and communicate findings effectively.
- Assess ventilated patients to ensure proper treatment and response.
- Recognize indications for non-invasive oxygen delivery systems and manage their use.
- Understand long-term mechanical ventilation and patient weaning.
- Assess, monitor, and manage patients requiring renal therapeutic interventions.
- Recognize indications and complications related to enteral and parenteral nutrition.
- Evaluate the family's needs for more involvement to aid patient transition from hospital to home.
- Exhibit characteristics such as advocacy, clinical judgment, caring practices, and response to diversity.
- Collaborate effectively with teams and partake in clinical inquiry and teaching to educate patients and families.
