Skill Set Required - Solution Architect

  • Applications (Good understanding):
    • Full-stack JAVA env (multi-tier application, front-end, APIs, etc.)
    • Angular or other similar front end applications
    • Python
    • Resiliency/error handling
  • Cloud:
    • Hands on experience in Cloud models (AWS preferred, or Oracle, Azure or GCP)
    • Kubernetes
    • High availability patterns
  • Integrations:
    • Kafka/pub-sub data replication
    • Real time soap/rest API
    • Various integration patterns
    • Data replication/ETL (treehouse, goldengate, etc.)
  • Database:
    • MySQL
      • Stored procedures
      • Performance
      • Relational design
      • Troubleshooting
      • Using secondary databases for read-only queries
  • Reporting:
    • Data warehousing (Snowflake)
  • Other
    • Good communications skills (tailored to audience)
    • Strong common sense (don't spend a million to fix a $10,000 problem)
    • Business understanding
    • Self-motivated, results oriented
