About Thorne Ambulance Service (TAS):
TAS is a progressive, family owned & operated, mobile medical provider. Established in 2010, and headquartered in Greenville (SC), TAS has built a solid reputation for quality and consistency in healthcare across South Carolina. With the implementation of Critical Care services in the Grand Strand, Thorne's ability to care for the acutely ill and injured will be further expanded, granting a new patient population access to timely and clinically appropriate care.
Application & Interview Process:
Providers interested in this position, when applying, should include a resume/cv and cover letter. Interviews will be conducted by current Thorne Ambulance Critical Care providers, in addition to members of company administration.
This program will tentatively launch on July 1st. It is our goal to select the inaugural class of providers for this opportunity by the early part of June. Selected providers will then undergo a rigorous internal educational program, building upon and showcasing their clinical skillset. Upon completion of this program, providers will be assigned to a Critical Care Paramedic role in the organization. These providers will often work with the EMTs and Paramedics of Thorne Ambulance Service in the commission of their responsibilities. In addition to Critical Care-level requests, selected providers may be required to respond to emergency inter-facility calls (e.g.: STEMI, stroke, trauma, etc.) that will not necessarily rise to the level of critical care services, but may be warranted to facilitate target times, care quality, and desired patient outcomes.
Program Design:
This program was designed in coordination with Dr. Coben Thorn (Medical Director), Kevin Anderson (Grand Strand Operations Manager), Chris Battlo (Clinical Manager), and Ryan Thorne (CEO/Director). Additional support has been provided by the exceptional team at HCA's Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
