Job Description

Performs a full range of MRI imaging procedures in a timely manner on all patient types as specified by protocols utilizing identified scanners and in accordance with policies on Universal Precautions, safety, and waste disposal. Adheres to the direction, policy, and procedures as defined by the physician modality director. Coordinates patient flow on assigned units to maximize productivity. Prepares exam rooms at the start of each shift and between assigned cases. Reports initial impressions to the Radiologist and reviews the images before releasing the patient. Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks. Operates and/or prepares specialized equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures. Assists, prepares, and positions patients as required to perform MRI procedures. Applies the necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of an acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and the patients’ needs. Provides patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures by informing the patient of the nature of the procedure, the area to be imaged, and any specific instructions the patient may need. Reviews patient safety questionnaires and follows MRI safety precautions prior to scanning patients. Ensures Radiology room and equipment cleanliness, at the start and at the end of the shift, including the removal of soiled or dirty linen.

Must Have

  • ARRT certification

  • 1 year of experience or more

  • Proficiency in EPIC

  • Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology

  • New York State License (L.R.T.)

  • NY State IV certification

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (MRI certified)

  • BLS certification

  • IV certification

  • Infection Control

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 months

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in New York, New York.

Work Environment

In Person, Tuesday – Saturday 4-12a + holidays
