Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist shipping in day-to-day functions
  • Shuttle empty and loaded trailers on Company property and offsite
  • Assist in loading outbound freight and unloading incoming freight
  • Responsible for moving trailers around the yard
  • Back trailers into the building for unloading
  • Pull curtains, undo straps, remove product from each trailer
  • Clean remaining debris from each trailer and place in the appropriate area
  • Secure all straps to each winch, pull curtains taut & latch curtains before exiting the building
  • Pull trailers out of the building and manage placement in the shipping yard
  • Verify quantity shipped against packing slip, notate any discrepancies
  • Notify purchasing if there are any issues with products delivered
  • Follow FSC guidelines with receiving and adhere to vendor's chain of custody
  • Place printed labels on product for inventory purposes
  • Put raw materials in assigned location by width & length
  • Place production items such as glue totes, hot melt, & other production-related items in the assigned location
  • Assist in diagramming outbound loads
  • Assist in wrapping skids for shipment
  • Assist in quarterly inventory & label products with appropriate bar code by item number
  • Ensure labels & counts match items to be scanned
  • Assist in weekly board inventory count
  • Follow & Adhere to Safety Guidelines and Standard Work Requirements

Job Requirement

Qualifications:
  • Valid CDL Class A driver's license
  • 2 years' experience driving tractor-trailer
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Must have an excellent driving record
  • Ability to drive for long distances
  • All team members are expected to follow the Code of Conduct to the highest standards as well as to adhere to the Attendance Policy of VT Industries
Comprehensive benefit package and $1,500 New Hire bonus.

  • Hourly, non-exempt position (overtime compensation applies)
  • Full-time, Monday - Saturday, Required Overtime when needed

Physical Requirements

Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write. Maintain adequate vision. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional moderate lifting (50 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to climb up or down stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces. Ability to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
