POSITION SUMMARY

To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by functioning as a member of the Vascular OR and Diagnostic Radiology teams. The Radiology Technologist II is responsible for producing expert quality images during the advanced operation of the Hybrid OR and with the vascular C-arm. This team member will mentor the technical development of co-workers and students, coordinate work schedules to include OR call, maintain competencies and training, and demonstrate flexibility to rotate from the surgical suites to the radiology department for smooth and efficient flow.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Responsible for obtaining all equipment needed for a procedure to effectively image patients.
  2. Demonstrates ability to resolve equipment issues.
  3. Sterile scrub and circulator for all procedures. 
  4. Assists with patient care within Scope of Practice.
  5. Super user for Hybrid OR imaging equipment.
  6. Demonstrates post processing skills post procedure.
  7. Active participant in room prep, to include guide wires, stents, sheaths, and anesthesia placement.
  8. Reviews, edits, corrects and validates PACS to ensure accurate patient procedure image labeling and coding daily.
  9. Promotes and models appropriate open and effective communication among staff and providers.
  10. Fosters physician partnerships to include surgical preferences, special views and imaging protocols to ensure a seamless procedure.
  11. Serves as a clinical and technical expert resource to peers and physicians on the Hybrid OR as appropriate.
  12. Maintains knowledge of vendor equipment contributing to the throughput of the case (i.e. Stryker, OR boom, Volcano and various TEE equipment).
  13. Participates in on call schedule minimum one week per month to include weekends and holidays.
  14. Maintains competency in all diagnostic radiology imaging procedures.
