Quality Technician, Battery
Harbinger Motors Inc. is a Southern California-based electric vehicle manufacturer on a mission to transform the automotive and transportation industries, bringing to market EVs developed from the ground up to address the needs of the Medium Duty vehicle industry. This broad, and to date poorly addressed, market segment includes class 4 to 7 commercial delivery vehicles, RVs and utility vehicles, among others. Leveraging a foundation of proprietary, in-house developed vehicle technologies, Harbinger's first-of-its-kind EV platform will bring enhancements in vehicle performance, durability and operator comfort. And importantly, Harbinger's vehicles will be priced for zero acquisition premium relative to traditional gas- and diesel-based competitors, removing one of the most tenacious barriers to EV adoption.
Harbinger's team, with operations in Southern California and Michigan, includes industry veterans with expertise in powertrain, battery, chassis and software development, along with leaders in advanced manufacturing, corporate development, operations and finance. Our team members come from leading innovators, both in and out of the automotive industry, including Tesla, Rivian, Canoo, Ford, Anduril, and SpaceX.
Founded in 2021, Harbinger is a venture-backed startup on a rapid growth trajectory, looking for candidates that thrive on tackling complex challenges and who share in our passion to bring clean transportation alternatives to a segment of the market starving for innovation.
Job Overview
As a Quality Technician on our battery assembly line, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our battery modules meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying that our products comply with industry standards and Harbinger's specifications. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do:
- Inspection and Testing: Perform inspections and tests on battery modules or components to ensure they meet all quality standards and specifications.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data from inspections and tests to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, test data, and quality metrics.
- Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document non-conformances, and work with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices.
- Compliance: Ensure all quality control activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification in quality control, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive or battery industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of inspection and testing equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and specialized battery testing tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections and documenting results.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey quality-related information to team members and management.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity to handle small components and delicate inspection tools.
- Capacity to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
California Pay Range
