Job Title: Lead Analyst, Patient Financial Services
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Hybrid, requiring 2 to 3 days in the office
SUMMARY: The Lead Analyst, Patient Financial Services is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the patient financial services team, ensuring efficient and effective management of collection activities, phone metrics, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve departmental goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
Supervisory Duties:
- Oversee the daily operations of the patient financial services team, including insurance verification, workload distribution, and performance management.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to team members to ensure high levels of competency and productivity.
- Reporting- Analyze PowerBi reports to maintain familiarity with key departmental metrics.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations with Manager and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of both internal and external teams.
- Handle all Paylocity functions, i.e. PTO approvals and timecard corrections
- Monitor and manage the collection of outstanding patient balances, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve collection rates and reduce outstanding debt. Continual evaluation of vendors.
- Handle escalated patient inquiries and disputes, working to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to patient financial services and collections.
- Monitor phone metrics, including call volume, response times, and patient satisfaction, to ensure high levels of service delivery.
- Analyze phone metrics data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement changes to phone protocols and procedures based on metric analysis to enhance service quality.
- Ensure team members are meeting or exceeding established phone metrics and performance standards.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: An associate degree is required; however, a combination of relevant work experience and education may be considered. A bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in patient financial services, medical billing, or collections is required, along with prior supervisory or team lead experience. Strong understanding of healthcare billing and collections software, processes, and regulations, particularly within call center settings, is essential.
License: Valid driver's license required.
Organizational Skills: Ability to analyze data and implement strategies for improvement. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Computer Skills: Experience with medical billing and healthcare management software systems is preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Language Skills: Demonstrated ability to exercise professional oral and written communication skills with all internal and external audiences.
Reasoning Ability: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, driving efficiency and performance.

Local travel required.
