Dispensary Personnel - School of Dental Medicine Overview Date Posted: 7/2/2024 Location: LECOM Bradenton Dental School Address: 4800 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard City: Bradenton State: FL Country: United States of America Category: Education Employment Status: Full-time Description JOB SUMMARY: Responsible and accountable for maintaining all dispensary supplies in an orderly manner and assisting the Procurement Supervisor. The successful candidate stocks the clinics, maintains supplies for students and faculty and attends meetings approved by the Institution that require advancement of your position, in procurement and other related areas CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in maintaining inventory and accountability of all dispensary supplies; Report to immediate Supervisor related issues regarding disposable supplies (i.e. expiration dates, torn packaging, etc.); Load all items into AxiUm computer program and track / monitor availability; Receive all new items into AxiUm computer program; stock and dispense new items accordingly; Track and receive student shipments and dispense accordingly; Troubleshoot discrepancies within the order process; Receive hazardous materials; store items and facilitate disposal process; Store and dispense educational material for faculty; Sign-out and track loaned equipment for both students and faculty; Ensure dispensary has ample supplies for both students and faculty; Work with faculty and staff to trend upcoming usage and order supplies accordingly; Place virtual orders through AxiUm computer program from the Dispensary and the Simulation Lab; Fill orders from Simulation Lab and deliver products accordingly as needed; Track supply usage and document in AxiUm computer program for inventory control; Conduct weekly checks of OSHA mandated equipment such as; but not limited to, eyewash stations; Assist in showing students front office business operations; Responsible and accountable to supervise and manage patient practice area; Work in conjunction with the faculty & students to maintain patient flow; Responsible for reporting End of Day (“EOD”) and balancing reports for the Financial Officer; Be crossed trained as a Patient Care Coordinator and other applicable positions to learn the full flow of the Dental Practices; Contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction; Commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach; and Accept other duties needed/assigned for the departmental needs. EEO/AA/M/F/Vets/Disabled Minimum Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed: Computer experience in the dental or other related field to allow for AxiUm computer program entry; Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols, at the practice level; Knowledge of patient’s privacy (HIPAA) and student privacy (FERPA); Follow proper OSHA and safety guidelines; Protect equipment (office, dental, facility); Strong communications skills are essential as well as computer literacy (MS Office Suite [i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel, etc.]) and accurate data entry skills; Excellence organizational skills must be accurate and attentive to detail; Must be trained and certified on the Institutional Data System; Maintaining an established work schedule; Effectively use interpersonal and communication skills including tact and diplomacy. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to: a High school diploma or equivalent GED with experience working in a customer service oriented environment required. Dental assisting certificate or equivalent preferred.
