The Phlebotomist I is responsible for the accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of patient identification, blood and body fluid specimen collection and specimen labeling. Incumbents interface with all departments within the medical centers, patient service centers, care givers, vendors, and consultants. The Phlebotomist II is responsible for the accurate and timely pre-analytical functions of patient identification, blood and body fluid specimen collection and specimen labeling. The phlebotomist provides support to multiple regional laboratory personnel and is integral to maintaining the integrity of patient specimens in order to provide accurate and timely patient care. Phlebotomist Required qualifications: Coursework/Training and Successful completion of a nationally accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant training program. 1 year of phlebotomy related experience. Note: Industry related experience must be from an equivalent high volume, acute care laboratory performing high complexity testing, OR Successful completion of an internship in a Providence laboratory while actively enrolled in and progressing through a nationally accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant training program. Preferred qualifications: Upon hire: Certification (PBT, etc.) from a government agency or nationally recognized organization (e.g. ASCP, NCA) Min: $18.25 Max: $ 27.90 Senior Phlebotomist Required qualifications: Coursework/Training and Successful completion of a nationally accredited phlebotomy or medical assistant training program. 1 year of phlebotomy related experience AND Certification / Registry (PBT, etc.) from a government agency or nationally recognized organization (e.g. ASCP, NCA), OR 3 years of phlebotomy related experience. Certification or Registry (PBT, etc.) from a government agency or nationally recognized organization (e.g. ASCP, NCA) is preferred. Note: Industry related experience must be from an equivalent high volume, acute care laboratory performing high complexity testing. Prefer registrar experience. Demonstrate experience with State and Federal and other regulatory Compliance regulations including Medicare Secondary Payor (MSP), EMTALA, ABN, HIPPA.
