JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
The LVN Quality Assurance receives patient visit documentation submitted by field staff and reviews the documents for timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.

Essential Functions

  1. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  2. Participates in developing departmental goals, objectives and systems.
  3. Maintains office services by assisting in organizing office operations and procedures.
  4. Performs regular chart audits and tracks appropriate trends related to risk management.
  5. Reviews submitted patient visit documents for completeness and accuracy in a timely manner to meet set deadlines.
  6. Accesses charting software to validate completeness and accuracy of submitted patient visit documents.
  7. Communicates with field staff regarding untimeliness, incompleteness, and inaccuracies in submitted documentation via e-mail or telephone.
  8. Create reports and summaries in regard to status of patient visit notes submission of field staff.
  9. Receives the public and answers questions, in person and by telephone; responds to inquiries from employees, citizens and others and refers, when necessary, to the appropriate person, official or department.
  10. Operates listed office machines as required (copy machine, fax machine, time stamp machine, computer, scanner).
  11. Performs other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, faxing, e-mailing, etc.
  12. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. LVN with current licensure to practice professional nursing in California
  2. Proficiency in interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, time management, and communication skills
  3. Excellent understanding of performance improvement and quality assurance
  4. Able to take and follow through with delegated tasks and accountability
  5. Strong organizational and planning skills
  6. Ethical Conduct
  7. Flexibility
  8. Ability to take initiative when necessary
  9. Proficiency in MS Office
  10. Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, feel, talk and hear. The employee is required to have the ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This will require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
