Requirements for this Pathologist - Laboratory Department Director job

The successful candidate for the Contract Pathologist - Laboratory Department Director position at Genview DX must possess a diverse set of skills and capabilities. This individual will be responsible for creating the SOPs and overseeing the laboratory operations and personnel with the Laboratory Manager, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards. Key skills required include expertise in methodology, knowledge of applicable regulations, proficiency in quality and risk management, and strong leadership and people management abilities. A MD or PhD in a relevant field and certification from an approved board, along with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and 2 years in a senior management role, are essential qualifications.

The ideal candidate should also demonstrate exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as a customer-focused and innovative mindset. Apply now to lead our laboratory team to success

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Manage and direct the laboratory personnel and performance of high complexity tests;
  • Responsible for assuring compliance- with all applicable provisions of regulations and professional standards laboratory safety regulations and controls quality assurance programs, policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols
  • Responsible for delivering customer service excellence by providing first class/top-notch Laboratory Testing Services; Developing, strengthening expending and proactively promoting Laboratory Services
  • Establish best practices for new test procedures
  • Come up with new testing methods and techniques;
  • Accountable for licensure and accreditation-needs to ensure compliance with Licensing and Accreditation standards- in order to meet regulatory licensing and accreditation requirements;
  • Responsible for standard operating procedures for all aspects of testing-assures standard operating procedures are valid up-to-date and accessible to laboratory personnel;
  • Plays a pivotal Role in reviewing policies procedures and processes- their quality system in collaboration with VP of Operations and VP of Compliance
  • Review the laboratory´s proficiency testing enrollment and performance- ensuring enrollment in appropriate proficiency testing programs and reviewing results
  • Successfully implementing maintaining and evaluating quality control standards
