Description: The Rad Technologist II CT-Seasonal is responsible for capturing specific Computed Tomography (CT) scan images used by Radiologists in patient diagnoses. This is a temporary position, 12 weeks in length, which can be extended upon agreement between the therapist and management.
Typical Duties:
- Follows a physician's instructions, prepares and operates CT equipment, positions patients correctly and effectively records the requested diagnostic images according to written protocols.
- Start-up and calibrate CT system daily, maintains QA records and assists with accreditation of equipment.
- Performs CT procedures in an efficient and timely manner.
- Administers contrast (IV or oral) with proper dosages and documents in patient medical records.
- Assists with training of new CT technologists and students.
- Orders and restocks supplies and linens.
- Reports equipment failure to proper service organization and supervisor. Schedules service and preventive maintenance according to patient load and equipment availability when necessary.
- Ensures a safe and clean environment with all the necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures in exam room.
- Enters and completes orders in Radiology computer system.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience: 2 - 4 years related CT experience.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (R). Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT) OR eligible to take the registry and must become registered within 12 months of hire. Certified by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT). Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment. Maintain yearly venipuncture competency.
