We are one big family working together to help our patients recover and get back to the life they want to live Inova Health System is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our IPTC (Inova Physical Therapy Centers) team of supporting our outpatient location at Tysons. This hours for this role will be full-time, Monday-Friday with two evenings until 7pm each week. The Physical Therapist 1 selects evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for the patient's diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating appropriate treatment plans. Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines while adjusting treatment plans accordingly.

Schedule: M-F, 8 hour shifts, two late evenings until 7:00pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Documents evaluation results clearly and completely while including all essential elements according to department policy.
  • Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatments, actual performance and an assessment as to status relevant to treatment plans, eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries.
  • Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.
  • Documents clearly, concisely and legibly within established timeframes (e.g. allows other therapists to continue treatment, allows for interpretation by payers, supports reimbursements. etc.).
  • Documents evidence of patient and family/caregiver education.
  • Contacts families, physicians or other healthcare team members in anticipation of special needs of patients and/or families in a timely manner to facilitate effective treatment plans.

Requirements:

Education: B.S. in Occupational Therapy, Masters Preferred
Certification: BLS through American Heart Association (AHA)
Licensure: VA License required
Special Skills: Basic computer knowledge, proficient in English verbal and written skill
